Alien Breed Evolution Screens and Release Details
Welcome back. You're a regular here, so why not follow us on Twitter too...
In July we got hold of the first shots of a remake of the classic, Alien Breed.
Not content with simply getting the latest screens this time, we contacted Team 17 – the people behind the project – to squeeze out as much info about the game as we could.
First released on the Amiga in 1991, this PSN re-imagining will follow the same classic formula: running around claustrophobic environments, searching for the lift down to the next level, all the while shooting for your life against hordes of extraterrestrials attempting to eviscerate you.
Xenophobes rejoice, we ought to be getting the game on PSN in the first half of 2010, according to Mark Baldwin from Team 17 Software.
Initially, Alien Breed Evolution is coming out on XBLA, with PSN and PC versions to follow. Alien Breed will be coming out in 3 Episodes and will be digitally distributed only.
We are expecting Episode 1 in the final quarter of this year on XBLA and then depending on how well it does we can expect Episode 1 to be out on PSN in the 1st half of 2010, but those dates are subject to change; nothing has been finalised yet.
Episodes, eh?
Doesn’t bode well, if history is anything to go by…

"It's the wallpaper or me, one of us has to go."*
Having said that, the original game was awesome, the screens below look great and Team 17 are the guys behind the hugely addictive Worms on PSN.
All things considered, we are cautiously optimistic. For now we’ll keep pestering Team 17 for detailsm, and keep an ear to the ground for more info about the game.

"I shall call him 'Squishy', and he will be mine! And he shall be my Squishy"*
Amiga classics coming to PSN… what would you guys like to see remastered on our beloved console? Our top one would be Gods… aaah the memories!
*Noms to the person who gets BOTH image quotes.

Episodes eh? I hope the episodes are cheap.
Cheap like a… nevermind…
Yeah hopefully! I like the idea of the PSP Minis, and something like that for the PS3 would be awesome!
Finding Nemo and Oscar Wilde!!!
I’m excited to see more about this game, it looks pretty awesome.
