Metal Gear Solid Philanthropy gets a release date – UPDATED
MGS: Philanthropy is a fan made movie that has been in the making since 2002. The project has no budget and is non-profit, but don’t let that deter you from the potential greatness this film can achieve. They even have the singer of an iconic MGS theme doing the films ending track.
The movie will be distributed online for FREE. So what’s it about and when does it come out?
Inspired by the work of Hideo Kojima, a group of Italian students and filmmakers wanted to create a film based off the series. After a long process of creating and recreating, Hive Division has finally completed their project and it is ready to be shown to the world.
The movie will be 70 minutes long and looks to be extremely promising. The special effects, for a fan made project, are way beyond expectations and the dialogue seems interesting.
One of the most amazing aspects of the film is the soundtrack. It actually sounds like it could be from a Metal Gear Solid title. In fact, the ending theme of Philanthropy titled ‘Will There Be An End’ is sung by Aoife Ní Fhearraigh. The new song is beautiful. Don’t take our word for it, you can download it here.
For those that aren’t aware, Aoife is the singer of the legendary theme ‘The Best is Yet To Come’ from Metal Gear Solid.
As you know, PS3 Attitude is a 100% philanthropic venture. Lots of time and dedication goes into this site, and we can only imagine how much hard work went into making MGSP.
It has been a long time in the making but the movie is finished and will be premiering in Milano on the 25th and in Treviso on the 26th. The movie will be viewable online for free starting on September 27th.
Below is a video from their second trailer, released a year ago. A lot of time has passed since then but it is the most recent footage available. Enjoy:
What do you think about the trailer? Does it fit with the theme of Metal Gear Solid? Does the story seem interesting? Let us know.
