New PS3 Ad; “It Only Does Family Togetherness”
In the latest in the series of now-controversial PS3 advertising campaigns, Sony are pushing their platform with another stellar reason to buy the console.
But with Kevin Butler doling out the advice, it’s never a straightforward message.
Family Togetherness is the order of the day, and what better way to put this forward than via the cutesy-sugar-overload that is LittleBigPlanet?
Especially when that is combined with an estranged father’s desperate plea for help.
Unfortunately, ‘Buzz-Kill McGhee’ puts a downer on paternal desperation in favour of the simpler joys that are LBP. More so when said father’s family are actually all in Butler’s office playing LBP together.
It’s creepy in a whole different way, but hugely entertaining at the same time.
What should they do for the next ad campaign? Promote ‘It Only Does Online’ via clever use of a cyberjunkie looking for love in Home?
We have Uncharted 2 and R&C coming, according to the US PS Blog
