Super Street Fighter IV details – UPDATED
The game will be a standalone title and not DLC, but don’t throw your SFIV discs away just yet!
Two new videos have just hit the net. One shows Juri and T. Hawk in action, and the other shows an official trailer with three of the announced new character in action!
Yeah, we knew that another Street Fighter IV was bound to be released. Not only is it a Capcom tradition, but the leaked pictures that surfaced on the net was definitely another indication that a revision was coming. Despite that, Capcom has just revealed what they call the “worst kept secret on the internet” – Super Street Fighter IV.
Super Street Fighter IV will not be downloadable content. The additions are apparently too significant to just include in an update for the original title. Fans will be very pleased to know that Super SFIV will not be full priced despite being a standalone title. Perhaps the ‘Greatest Hits’ version of SFIV will instead be Super Street Fighter IV? Nobody knows yet.
Every character in Street Fighter IV will be getting tweaked. Balance updates, and other additions that could not make it in time for SFIV will be in the new revision. Every character will now have two ultra attacks as well, so moveset variety will be quite interesting for those that still play SFIV. Not only that, Ono-san insists that feedback from the community will make its way into the game. Bonus stages may also make their return, but that isn’t finalized yet.
Online will be revamped, although not many details have been given. It does appear that lobbies may finally make its way into Super Street Fighter IV. Fans who want to play in groups together definitely will love that addition.
In the interview with Gamespot, Yoshinori Ono states that fans shouldn’t get rid of their original discs. Capcom plans on giving fans a bonus to those that have both games, but no further details have been given regarding that.
Although the number of new characters hasn’t been finalized yet, Capcom is estimating that eight new characters will make it into Super SFIV. Three of the characters have been revealed so far: Juri, T. Hawk, and Dee Jay.
Capcom plans on bringing Super SFIV to homes in Spring of 2010. Until then, tell us who you would like to see in SSFIV. Capcom is listening to suggestions.
Update: iplaywinner has managed to find a video of Juri and T.Hawk in action. Check it out!
