LittleBigPlanet TGS09; LittleBigMotionControlledPlanetShowed off during Sony’s Tokyo Game Show press conference was a demo of LittleBigPlanet using the upcoming motion controller. In this Co-op mode, one player will control Sackboy while the other will manipulate the environment so that Sackboy can reach the end of each puzzle filled level. Of course, it wouldn’t be LittleBigPlanet if you couldn’t fool around some.

Using point-and-click controls, one player will be able to select and move objects in the environment, helping Sackboy navigate through the level. As seen in the on stage demo, the player controlling the objects around Sackboy has the life of our little friend in their hands.

In one instance, a platform was removed from underneath him, resulting in a spiky death. In another, Sackboy is squished after the person holding up some giant teeth “accidentally” lets them go.

Don’t want to shell out more money for the same LittleBigPlanet with new controls? Fear not as this will be made available as a in-game update, presumably some time after the motion controller release date of Spring 2010.

Media Molecule FTW. LBP almost single handedly got me to purchase a ps3 at the time when it was one of the very few exclusives. They’ve done it again, I kinda want to buy the Playstation motion controller just because of LBP.
