“Sony’s Motion Control means Wii/PS3 ports will happen.” – Jun Takeuchi

mad world wii 01 Sonys Motion Control means Wii/PS3 ports will happen. Jun TakeuchiSpeaking to 1UP, Capcom’s Jun Takeuchi (Resi Evil 5/Lost Planet) has gone on the record for the whole of the Japanese development community* and stated that Sony’s introduction of a Motion Controller (due next spring) will signal the start of possible Wii to PS3 ports.

Which has got us thinking. Just how many current Wii games would we even want on the PS3? Our conclusion? Not many.

In the interview, Takeuchi-san states:

Well just being from Capcom, I can tell you that we have a lot of good ideas on how to make use of that technology and we’re looking forward to putting them into practice. However, speaking to other developers in Japan, I’ve heard a few of them say they were delighted by the Sony motion controller because they can just port over their Wii titles to the PS3.

Mad World? Sure, why not. The fact of the matter is, the best waggle games on the Wii are first party titles from Nintendo (Super Mario Galaxy etc.) and we’re definitely not getting them. Also, wouldn’t the developers need to give the non-HD games a new fresh coat of polygon-paint? We’re not saying Wii games are ugly or anything but … It’s definitely not a simple case of “Press here for PS3 port.”

What Wii games would you like to see get a PS3 outing? If any. Comments people. They make the world go round.

*We’re kidding but who are we to dispute the man’s claims? He knows more Japanese developers than we do.
