BTMF Logo Blue Toad Murder Files episodes to last 90 minutes eachBlue Toad Murder Files is a forthcoming, self-published PSN title from Relentless, the people behind the hugely successful Buzz! franchise.

In a forthcoming interview with PS3 Attitude, Design Director Paul Woodbridge reveals how long each of the episodes will last, and the reasons why they chose that route.

Blue Toad Murder Files will be a PSN game for 1-4 players and takes its cue from TV murder mysteries like Midsummer Murders, any Agatha Christie spin-off you’d like to mention or the likes of Murder She Wrote.

Like those shows, each episode will require you to think about witnesses, alibis and motives rather than the logic puzzles presented by traditional games like Cluedo. The game sees the player investigate murders and interrogate residents in the village of Little Riddle. At various points the game questions the player about their investigation and key plot points to check that they have been paying attention.

We asked Relentless about the length of each episode, and this is what he had to say:

“As this is a social game it is important that each episode doesn’t last too long. We came to a decision that around 90 minutes was a good time, and that six episodes would be enough to tell our story. This also happens to be very similar to television which is important for us. We don’t want to alienate people who may not play a lot of games, but are comfortable with watching an episode of Midsummer Murders.” – Paul Woodbridge, Design Director.

Our full interview reveals much more about the game, and you’ll be able to delve into the evidence at 09:00 UK time tomorrow morning, here at PS3 Attitude…
