Sony detail massive UK Uncharted 2 marketing campaign

Uncharted 2 Snow LevelSo Uncharted 2 is undoubtedly Sony’s biggest exclusive this year, and perhaps so far in the PS3’s life cycle, but how are Sony going to tell the UK all about it?

Well they are launching a massive marketing campaign that may not be too far away from resembling the scale seen with the Halo series.

We have already seen very short teasers throughout various advert breaks, as well as online advertising, but there is a lot more to come.

The game will be sponsoring some significant movies and programmes on TV such as all Sky 1 and 2 movies, which include Mission Impossible 2 and Beverly Hills Cop.

Sony are also pushing the game through sponsorships for adventure programming across four Discovery channels.

As you can see, the company are taking the characteristics associated with the game and sponsoring programmes that carry those attributes – someone’s got their brain switched one.

Finally, they will be running the above trailer in the middle of the England World Cup Qualifier on Wednesday, and UEFA Champions League match between Chelsea and Athletico Madrid next week.

Sony has been known to put little effort into advertising their games, and so hopefully this will be a sign of new things to come!
