God of War IIISony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced their plans to get the E3 God of War III demo in people’s hands.

The demo which is being bundled with the God of War Collection and District 9 discs in North America will be distributed to a limited number of PSN users in Europe.

Emails are being sent out over the weekend to a number of users who have applied for promotional newsletters on their accounts. In the email will be a code that you must enter on your PS3 to instantly download the demo.

So if you live in Europe and have a PSN account, remember to keep checking your Inbox this weekend.

If you do get a code, remember to tell us and give any impressions of it that you want to share with the rest of the world. Good Luck!

    I got a code to!!!

GOW3 is out of this world, the graphics are outstanding, the killing is brutal, this game is just epic.

And reporting back – after a fairly hefty (2.6gb!) download, I fired it up for some quality God of War goodness :) . Now, I enjoy the God of War games (played all three so far), but I’m not really a hack and slasher first and foremost, so bear in mind I’ll never get over excited by these games. But what I saw was:

    - Graphics were very pretty. Only game that can hold a candle (or the head of a sun-god ;) ) to Uncharted. Some bits were better (thought some of the lighting was spectacular), some bits weren’t quite as good.

    - Graphics were also fairly brutal – never disemboweled a centaur before, tear the eye out of a cyclops (not that you don’t do that in the other GoW’s, but it’s far more gory this time around) or ripped the head off someone (well a god – Helios as it turns out). This is _not_ a game to play with a five-year old on your lap!

    - Animation was good, but not quite Uncharted 2 good – so probably second best I’ve seen in gaming ;) .

    - Gameplay was classic God of War with the little guys, no real surprises, but the two mid-level critters in there had a good rhythm and pacing to the battle. Pacing and direction was very good.

    - Demo was quite easy – given previous God of War games, wouldn’t expect this to be ‘normal’.

    - Art direction was nice, classic God of War.

Overall, it felt like God of War with some greater depth in the mid-level critter combat, smoother animation and shiny graphics. That’s no bad thing, God of War I and II, and CoO are some of the best games on the PS2/PSP, and the gameplay and style holds up very well on the PS3. Impressed by the demo, and enjoyed it, and will pick the game up unless they shank the rest of the game. Feel sorry for poor ‘ole Helios.

    I didn’t get a code…

No one loves me, every one hates me.

Excuse while I go eat worms in this corner here. Alone. :(

Awesome and brutal in equal measure. But that guy has serious problems. But hey, what can you do if the whole multi-verse of deities have it in for you? Not something you can ignore really.

    I got the code! :D

The demo is immense, the lighting, the detail, the gore, it is all so good!

  • Ducer15 says:

    No code for me. :(

Im not feeling a lot of love from Sony of late. Last code I got out of them was the Motorstorm 2 demo in advance of the open release.

    Not fair. *Stamps feet*
