We held off until someone (somewhere) gave the knowing nod, and it looks like a source close to Sony has finally buckled and told Eurogamer that, yes indeedy, Facebook is coming to the PS3.

Rumours have been popping up like wild-fires this week after images appeared on Scrawlfx depicting the popular social networking site as being accessible from the XMB.

The images (now pulled) were actually a slip-up by Sony and left on a PlayStation website by accident.

With the Facebook access part now confirmed as legit we’re going to assume that the new Gamercard colours shown will also feature in the next firmware update.
