Namco working on patching Tekken 6 online
Welcome back. You're a regular here, so why not follow us on Twitter too...
If you’re playing Tekken 6 right now, you most likely noticed that the online play is atrocious at the moment. Well, Namco noticed that too and they have finally responded to the cries of the community.
There is no way to put it nicely. The input delay in Tekken 6 online sucks. Even when facing opponents that appear to have full bars, there is such a delay that causes even the simplest of moves to fail. Want to try to do a simple juggle? You better start pressing those buttons well in advanced in order for them to actually hit the opponent.
As of right now, if you’re a good Tekken player, it comes down to who can rush and overwhelm the opponent the fastest without making a mistake. Due to the lag issues, it’s incredibly difficult to block any sort of mixups and the online players are definitely taking advantage of that fact.
Don’t let that deter you from Tekken 6 though, the core gameplay is still great and incredibly rewarding. Not only that, but the lovable tekkenbob on twitter has announced that Namco is working on fixing the online issues as soon as possible.
We’re working on a downloadable update to help improve the online multiplayer modes in Tekken 6. It will be released as soon as possible.
Until we play an unhealthy amount of matches online once the update is out, our Tekken 6 review will be put on hold to see if Namco can fix the issues. It’s only fair to see what they can do, and hopefully it is done in a timely manner as the online portion of the game is very important to the community.
