Resident Evil 5 Gold EditionRemember that survey Capcom had to decide whether the new Resident Evil 5 content would be delivered physically or digitally? Well, it turns out that the answer is both.

Capcom announced today that two new episodes along with character costumes, and a new “Mercenaries Reunion” mode will be released early next year.

Deemed Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition, the physical edition will include the full game along with all additional content. This means you’ll receive Versus, along with both new episodes, costumes, and modes; all on a single Blu-ray disc of course.

The Gold Edition will cost you $49.99 and will be released  on March 9, 2010.

If you already own the game and don’t want to re-buy it again, then you’ll be able to download individual episodes and costume packs. The first episode, entitled Lost in Nightmares, is scheduled for release on February 18th while the second is scheduled for March 4th.

No word on pricing has be unveiled but we’ll be sure to keep you up to date with information as it comes in.

So, will which route will you choose? Will you be downloading the new content or do you prefer the physical media or will you not even bother getting the content at all? Let us know in the comments!
