Revenge of the Wounded Dragons kicks and punches the PSN on Nov. 24 – UPDATE

Submitted by on Monday, 23 November 2009No Comment

revenge of the wounded dragonsIt was just a few days ago when we noticed that the ESRB had a description for a game called Revenge of the Wounded Dragons. The game has just been revealed on the PlayStation Blog and will be releasing tomorrow. Yes, tomorrow.

Revenge of the Wounded Dragons has a lot going for it. First, it’s a side-scrolling beat ’em up and that’s full of win right there.  Second, the story sounds a lot like Double Dragon and we definitely know that’s awesome. Third, there aren’t many side-scrolling beat ’em ups on the PSN and that gives this game an automatic advantage.

The game features single player and local multiplayer modes with 24 levels and 10 mini-games to play through. It appears that combos are important and you can even do double team moves with a buddy. The double team moves actually look pretty neat from what we’ve seen, so we hope they are fun to do. The game also allows for custom soundtracks and even screen capturing.

Here’s the trailer that shows off the gameplay:

The game looks interesting, but the animations appear to be a bit stiff. Hopefully the game is just mindless fun, and we look forward to trying it out. It’s a bit disappointing that the game doesn’t have any online multiplayer modes at all though.

Revenge of the Wounded Dragons beats up the PSN on November 24, with a price set at $9.99. It’s unknown if this game will be releasing outside of the US at the moment.
