Prince of Persia LogoUbisoft announced today the newest addition to the Prince of Persia series with Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands.

The game will follow the classic Sands of Times storyline and is scheduled for a May 2010 release.

The game, which is set to coincide with the release of Disney’s film adaptation of The Sands of Time, will feature many fan-favorite elements from the original series as well as new gameplay mechanics. No word on what the story will be about or even if it will follow the same cell-shaded style of the Prince’s last adventure.

What would you like to see out of The Forgotten Sands? Let us know in the comments!

Yeah ! Sands of Time was my favourite game of Prince of Persia franchise ( though I haven’t played the newest one ) .

Good news, I am looking forward to this. The last Prince of Persia entry was an incredible combination of story and sound that I stared at the tv in disbelief at the end. I could not believe that a video game could be so moving and capture emotion so effectively

never played the last prince of persia. but i would like the series to follow a more “dark” path used in price of persia 2 and 3.

What? No, no, no! The Sands of Time trilogy has finished, it doesn’t need any more entries. Are they not continuing with the new storyline? It certainly has potential.

I absolutely loved the Sands of Time, but I was excited to see a new story unfold. I hope this doesn’t become some crappy movie tie-in!
