Recent Brink footage all PC; but runs on consoles “just as good.”

BrinkSplash Damage’s futuristic and dystopian FPS Brink has surfaced recently with new and exciting footage showing off the game’s unique SMART system.

Blending a free-running element akin to Mirror’s Edge with the usual ferocity associated with a First Person Shooter – as opposed to a First Person Runner – Brink is looking like a hot prospect for the end of next year.

Some eyebrows were raised, however, regarding just what hardware was actually running the current build on display in these aforementioned videos. Reported over at PS3 University – after confirmation from Splash Damage on their official forums – the footage shown is in fact from the PC version.

But don’t fret. The console versions will be on par. Apparently.

Creative Director Rahdo explains:

Yeah, that’s footage from the PC, played with a 360 controller (exactly like E3, PAX, etc.) It’s literally the exact same demo, running on the same PC.

I should add we’ve got the same levels running right now on console, looking just as good… :)

We’ve embedded the SMART demo footage along with the objective feature footage below for your perusal and dissection.

Do we reckon the console version will match that of the PC? Can you detect the amount of cynicism laced through these last few sentences?
