Submitted by on Tuesday, 8 December 2009One Comment

Dead Space 2We’ve debated about it in the past, but it seems the perennial All Games Need Multiplayer hokum just won’t die. Next up to the online plate would appear to be the recently announced Dead Space 2.

Found lurking in the darkest corners of LinkedIn, EA have advertised an open position at Redwood City, CA – the location of Visceral Studios – for the new Dead Space game. The publisher are quoted as “Seeking a highly motivated Senior Online Level Designer for the Dead Space franchise on Xbox360 and PS3. This is a major opportunity to contribute creatively to an exciting new franchise.”

Think you have the chops for the job? Read on.

Check out the follow pre-requisites:

• Conceptualize, script, direct, and build online levels for the game.

• Own the level design for the online game, be able to work collaboratively with Creative Director and Online Producer to create extremely fun, satisfying and polished multiplayer levels.

• Drive online design by taking the initiative to bring all parties together to execute on the overall vision for the levels.

• Be a collaborative member of the design team, and contribute to reviews, feedback, and playtest sessions.

• Hands on contributor

No news on what type of multiplayer this might be (co-op, deathmatch, etc.), but with online adding a new and continuous revenue stream to games, we can’t say we’re surprised at the direction Dead Space 2 is heading.
