GT Academy 2010 launches with time trial on December 17th
Welcome back. You're a regular here, so why not follow us on Twitter too...
GT Academy, the European competition that put the best Gran Turismo 5: Prologue player behind the wheel of a real Nissan 350Z and compete in a real race, is back.
Starting December 17th, European gamers will be able to download an exclusive time trial that will determine who does and doesn’t get into this years Academy.
Players will have to place the best time on a newly created Gran Turismo 5 circuit with the Nissan 370Z. The best time will be a combination of times from a tuned and non-tuned version of the car. Players have until January 24th to get the lowest time possible.
The top 20 qualifying drivers from each country will be invited to the national final event and will race against the top Gran Turismo players in the country. Qualify in the top 20 in that event and you’ll be invited to the exclusive GT Academy 2010.
Over the course of 5 days, drivers will be tested for skill and nerve with only two making the final cut (the numbers are winding down quite quickly we see). From those two, a winner will be selected as the GT Academy driving ace.
Be sure to check out the PlayStation.Blog for all the details as well as the qualifying countries. Sorry North America, this one’s for Europeans only.
