Rockstar has today announced when Red Dead Redemption, the sequel to 2004 hit Red Dead Revolver, will be releasing next year.

North America will eventually be treated to the open world game based around the turn of the 20th century on April 27th, while the rest of the world will have to wait three days later for release on the 30th.

In the game you take the control of newly reformed outlaw John Marston as he seeks to find the members of his former gang in the west of the United States.

What Rockstar do best is open world games, so there is no surprise that this title follows this popular theme.

It is certainly one of the games to look out for in the first half of next year, but time will tell if it will be worth your money.
