Second Borderlands DLC named and priced

Submitted by on Thursday, 10 December 20092 Comments

BorderlandsHot on the heels of the recently announced zombie DLC, Gearbox have now revealed details of what the second DLC outing for the excellent Role Playing Shooter Borderlands entails.

Entitled Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot (we’re really liking these titles), the new DLC will launch on January 7th, 2010 on the PS3.

Offering up both single-player and co-op goodness, the new pack also promises some intriguing new features.

Working together, players will fend off the masses as they fight for fame, honor, and more importantly, loot. Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot also adds a new bank feature, which allows players extra storage capacity for when they encounter one of the more than 16 million weapons that Borderlands has to offer; and the ability to acquire two additional skill points as quest rewards, making their characters even more powerful than before.

Whether it’s a subtle hat-tip to the Mad Max series (films whose style the producers of Borderlands undoubtedly are fans of) or a massive coincidence (it’s not a coincidence), the appearance of “Underdome” in the title is a nice touch.

Two DLC packs enter, one DLC pack leaves. OK, so that didn’t make much sense, but you can see where we’re going with this.

The new pack will be priced $9.99. Associate currencies outside of NA are currently not available.
