Yakuza 3 coming to NA and EU in 2010

It has been a long journey waiting for this game to come out. We’ve talked about it, and PS3 owners have begged for it. SEGA is once again giving its fans what they want.

It was hinted for quite some time that there was a chance that Yakuza 3 could be localized, and after teasing us and making our gaming hearts pound in a hopeful anticipation, the wait is only a few months longer. Here is what Gary Knight – SOE’s EU Marketing Director, had to say:

Yakuza 3 was one of the most requested titles for localisation by our European SEGA community, so we are delighted to be able to fulfil their wishes with this announcement. As well as delving even further into the rich narrative of the Yakuza universe, the development team have pushed the PlayStation 3 hardware to the limits to produce a beautiful and startlingly realistic depiction of the Japanese underworld.

The game has already sold more than half a million copies in Japan, and with all the hype that this game has generated, let’s hope for similar success in NA and EU. This is yet again proof that SEGA loves you and now it’s up to you to return the favor. For those wondering, Yakuza 3 will have English subtitles with Japanese voice overs.

Yakuza 3 is currently available in Japan and will be releasing in March 2010 in Europe and North America.
