BioWare promises more PS3 games
The release of Dragon Age: Origins in November marked BioWare’s first appearance on the PlayStation. Clearly the company enjoyed developing for the PS3 as they’ve already started working on new titles to come our way.
It’s currently unknown if these new titles are likely to be new IPs or whether they’ll be some of BioWare’s older franchises making their way onto the PlayStation. Should we allow ourselves to get excited about the possibility of top games such as Mass Effect coming our way?
The announcement was made by Ray Muzyka, CEO and General Manager of BioWare, during an interview with the guys over at Eurogamer.
“Dragon Age was our first title for PS3, and it’s done really well. PS3 is a great system and we enjoy developing for it, much as we enjoy developing for 360 and PC and other platforms. I can say that we’ve got a few titles in development for PS3 right now, as well as a few for 360, across the studios I manage. But I won’t say what they are, since not all of them have been announced yet!”
Since their inception in 1995, Bioware have gone onto establish themselves as one of the most critically acclaimed developers within the games industry. Creating massive story-driven titles is their forte, and with an impressive portfollio featuring top titles such as Mass Effect, Jade Empire, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Baldur’s Gate it’s no wonder.
Until the release of Dragon Age: Origins, PS3 owners have had to look on in envy as Xbox and PC owners have had all the fun, but it looks like the times they are a-changin’ for the best.
Are you excited as we are about the prospect of more BioWare titles coming our way?
