Heavy Rain awarded 15 certificate

Submitted by on Tuesday, 5 January 2010No Comment

heavy_rain_madToday it has been revealed that the British Board of Film Classification has awarded thriller Heavy Rain a 15 certificate for the UK.

In case you need a reminder, this means that legally you cannot go to the shops and buy yourself a copy if you are 14 or below.

In the past, it was predicted that the game would probably be awarded the highest 18 certificate due to its content.

The PEGI who are simply an advisory board for video games in Europe and gave it the full 18 rating, which makes this decision even more surprising.

The BBFC also noted that the game had received no cuts but will still contain “strong language, violence and sex”.

The Heavy Rain release dates have yet to be announced for North America and Europe, but it is anticipated to arrive sometime in February – the long wait could be almost over!
