Holy LEGO blocks Batman – We’ve sold a million copies!

Submitted by on Tuesday, 26 January 20103 Comments

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced that LEGO Batman: The Videogame has sold more than one million copies across all formats in the UK since launch in 2008.

The good news continues as despite being released two years ago the game continues to be a top seller week by week.

This should come as no surprise to those familiar with the LEGO games format, essentially taking a well known franchise and adding a unique and humorous twist along with LEGO block visuals.

The game has received some fairly good ratings from the Press, and subsequently won a  Children’s BAFTA Award for Best Video game.

Tom Stone, Managing Director at TT Games had this to say;

“The team at TT Games worked incredibly hard to make LEGO Batman: The Videogame a very fun experience for players.  We are delighted to know that so many people are enjoying the game.”

The question is – what next?  Do TT Games continue with their tried and tested formula, or do they have a complete shake up for the upcoming LEGO Harry Potter game and create something new?

We hope for the latter.  The Harry Potter universe is rich and vibrant and the perfect playground for a bit of TT Games magic (Get it? Magic… Harry Potter? Oh come on!).
