No PS Wand for Naughty Dog
Welcome back. You're a regular here, so why not follow us on Twitter too...
At least not for the third person perspective genre.
Speaking to G4TV, Naughty Dog’s co-president Evan Wells has discounted any possibility of future Uncharted games getting the motion controller treatment.
That’s not to say one of the best studios in the world aren’t interested in the technology, they’d just prefer to use it on a new property designed from the ground up with the device in mind.
“We really don’t have any interest in using the motion control to do a third-person action game. If we were going to make a motion controller game, we’d want to tackle it from the bottom up and make sure that we were designing the game around the motion control, the way the best Wii games are designed.”
Regarding the reception PlayStation fans will give the new device, Evan is confident it will be successful:
“Yeah, I think the PlayStation audience is totally for it. In fact, I bet you there are lot of closet Wii owners in the PlayStation community. If there is some really good software for that motion controller, I think it can be a big, big success.”

Good because the games are perfect the way they are.
Agreed.
I’m happy doing my running, jumping, climbing and shooting from a sitting position, thank you very much, and don’t spill my drink.
