Uncharted 2With all this talk of PS4 and Sony’s cloud technology, it’s good to see that at least one studio reckons there’s life left in the old PS3.

Speaking in an interview with G4TV, Naughty Dog’s co-president Evan Wells expresses his desire to stay with the current tech and is not “itching for new hardware” anytime soon.

“We’re getting comfortable. We’re not itching for new hardware. I would love to keep working on the PlayStation 3 for 5 or 6 more years… I think there’s still a lot to get out of it.”

The prospect of one of the best developers working on the PS3 today still able to wrangle some more juice out of the console just makes us all giddy with anticipation.

That is a ‘No Brainer’ Beware, however, That their commitment to get all into the PS3 architecture has got them where they are now. They definitely need to consider a major advamncement in technology and not ride on the coat tails of past success for too long. “As if” I actually had to say any of this.

Point well made though it’s likely that whichever way the tech wind blows if the PS2 is anything to go by the PS3 will ride quite a few waves before it gives up the ghost.
A friends son is still on the dreamcast and I see someones re-release a fully boxed CD game (with extras no less!) for the damn thing!
