Call of Duty 7 details emerge – good morning Vietnam!

It seems that some people with sniper like patience have managed to scope out some new information on the next Call of Duty – so where are we heading this time?

A Hollywood casting call has listed details about the upcoming Call Of Duty game.

Things that have been revealed so far are character names and some background information, as well as the game being set in Vietnam.

The casting call mentions Call of Duty-related “voice over/motion capture” for an Activision video game.

It then goes on to describe lead character Frank Barnes as being part of an elite Vietnam unit.

According to VG247,  Barnes is part of  the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam – Studies and Observations Group (SOG).

This group actually existed in real life, and they conducted covert unconventional warfare operations prior to and during the Vietnam War.

Barnes is described as;

“A fiercely patriotic veteran of WW2… A solid leader, possessed with an excellent ability to assess and respond to any situation quickly and decisively”.

Three other characters have also been listed;

  • Joseph Lewis, who is a “very physically fit” black man in his 20s.
  • Jason Hudson, a white man in his 30s with “over 15 years of military experience, making him an excellent tactician and mission co-coordinator”.
  • Kristina Ivanova, a Russian-born martial arts expert and CIA operative who’s “calm to the point of being cold and detached”.

Sounds like just the group of people you’d want to go and kill something!  For some reason they also remind us of the A-Team – we pity the fool who is not a Russian born martial arts expert!

So how is everyone feeling about a new Call of Duty game?  We think it really needs to up its game, because EA’s Medal of Honor reboot is looking like it will be bringing the noise come release day.
