The original Crysis was a PC only release back in 2007.  It garnered massive critical acclaim for it lush graphics, which push even current top spec machines to the limit.

What we found most impressive though was the actual environment in which you were allowed to play in.  Everything could be destroyed, and boy did we destroy everything!

What wasn’t as impressive though was the actual plot – ‘generic’ was often the word used to describe it.

With Crysis 2 Crytek are looking to not only dazzle us with amazing graphics, but also grip us with a deeper story.

Things that have been announced so far is the introduction of the Nanosuit 2.0, which comes with a new tactics mode.  This sounds like an enhanced HUD, giving players information about enemies, locations and the surrounding area.

The Nanosuit 2.0 will also still have four  modes, but with ‘speed’ and ‘power’ now combined into one.

This will come in handy as Crytek have commented on the fact that the setting – a destroyed city – will allow players to plan more vertical attacks to make better use of some of the Nanosuit 2.0′s abilities.

We should mention that PC Games were only shown the Xbox version of the game, but they claim that it is;

“Among the best looking games available on any system.”

Fingers crossed that the PS3 version will cause just as many jaws to drop.

We have been told to watch out for plenty of surprises, so are anticipating some juicy announcements soon.
