The final Resident Evil 5: Gold mercenaries revealed – UPDATE
Welcome back. You're a regular here, so why not follow us on Twitter too...
The master of the epic one liner returns! Barry Burton reunites with Jill and Chris and he’s carrying a weapon. It’s really powerful, especially against living things!
Don’t worry, Barry isn’t alone. The second mercenary is one that barely knows how to play the piano. Yup, it’s everyone’s favorite STARS medic, Rebecca Chambers. Hopefully she gets to use the first-aid spray as a weapon…
The latest issue of Famitsu has finally confirmed the last two playable characters in the Mercenaries Reunion mode for RE5: Gold. Both of these characters were rumored to be in the game ever since leaked footage was released on YouTube. Of course, that video has been conveniently removed by Capcom.
Considering how the new mode is called Mercenaries Reunion, it was about time we actually got characters from past Resident Evil titles. Barry and Rebecca are definitely welcome additions to the roster and fans of the original Resident Evil are probably overjoyed at this point.
RE5′s first downloadable episode, Lost in Nightmares, releases on February 18th and it’s priced at $4.99. The second episode, Desperate Escape, will be available to download on March 4th for the same price. Resident Evil 5: Gold will hit store shelves on March 9th and it includes all of the DLC on a Blu-ray disc for $49.99.
Update:
It’s awesome to see that Rebecca does use her First-aid spray as a weapon!

Looks decent but would have liked to also see another Jill. Hopefully they let us change loadouts for guns and let us use who we want in the co-op story mode, but I’m betting they won’t and thus the fun won’t last quite that long for all the work they are doing, and it’s shame. Released same day or around FF13, End of Eternity (RoF) and some PC game only add-ons I’ve been waiting for.
