Sony will be showing off the motion controller at GDC

Submitted by on Tuesday, 16 February 20103 Comments

Another day, another motion controller related tidbit of news.

As mentioned in a previous article, Sony is busy beavering away creating games for it’s upcoming motion controller.  Details have been hard to come by, but is GDC the place where Sony will finally break it’s silence?

GDC (Game Developers Conference) is a professionals only event held every year in San Francisco, attracting over 17,000 attendees.

The conference features over 400 lectures, panels, tutorials and round-table discussions on a comprehensive selection of game development topics.

It seems Sony has chosen this event to show off the latest build of their motion controller.

They have booked an hour long presentation slot on March 11th entitled ‘Introducing the PlayStation 3 Motion Controller’.  This will be presented by SCEA’s platform research manager David Coombes and SCEA developer support man Kirk Bender.

Team Attitude have a list of things they would love to see at this presentation;

  • An actual name please.  Writing ‘motion controller’ all the time is giving us repetitive strain injury.
  • An estimated price so we can check our piggy banks.
  • A demo of those ten games rumoured to be in development.

Needless to say, PS3 Attitude will report the news as it breaks.
