Tony Hawk’s Ride noseslides its way to £15 – and sells out
Eagle eyed shoppers noticed today that an online retailer was shifting its unsold copies of the PS3 version of Tony Hawk’s Ride for £15 – a grand total saving of £85 off the rrp.
Maybe Activision should be rethinking the planned sequel?
Poor Tony Hawk’s Ride. Currently propping up the bottom end of Metacritic with a score of 44/100, it seems there is little love for a franchise that was once adored by its fans.
One of the main sticking points is the frankly colossal price of £99.99. We know it can be found cheaper, but you still wouldn’t get much change from £100.
It seems some people agree. Online retailer Marshall Ward dramatically slashed the price of the game by 85% – and sold out as a result.
Oddly, only the PS3 version of the game was cut, as the Xbox 360 and Wii versions can still be found in the toys section for £99. Do PS3 owners dislike skating? Or are we a bit more prudent with our hard earned cash?
Is £15 a price you would take a gamble on? Or would that money be better spent towards God of War III?
We know – silly question. Gnarly, dude (or is that surfing?)
