2K Sports won’t have an NHL game this year
2K Sports will not be releasing its NHL franchise this year.
Instead, the company has revealed that they’ll be having a year off to work on improvements. The idea is that they’ll come back in betting shape to tackle their rival from EA in 2011.
Ben Feder, 2K’s CEO said that the company was “committed to competing and winning.” Recent years has seen EA dominate NHL, as they have done with the football and American football markets. Yet, Feder believes that an extra year of work would give the series a head start on its rival.
“We think as a result of that [extra development time] the following year we’ll just come back a lot stronger.”
