Earlier in the week it was thought that Sony had accidently confirmed that a LittleBigPlanet sequel was on the way.

Sony has now spoken up to tell us this is not the case.  Facepalm.

The interview that started it all was with Sony Benelux brand manager Folkert Langeveld, who was talking about the PlayStation Move.  One of his comments was on “LittleBigPlanet Twee” – which translates into LittleBigPlanet 2.

Of course, the Internet got itself into a bit of a tizzy – with some really happy, and some really angry fans.

Sony has decided to comment and stop the Internet from melting.  Speaking to Connected Consoles they had the following to say;

“As demonstrated recently at GDC, LittleBigPlanet has been shown as an example of how an existing game could benefit from PlayStation Move Motion Controller support. This is not a confirmation of LittleBigPlanet 2, and we do not have any announcements to make about the LittleBigPlanet franchise.”

Does any of the PS3 Attitude Public still play LittleBigPlanet?  Would you buy a sequel?
