Today 2K Games announced the release dates for Mafia 2, the open world crime thriller.

The game will be releasing in North America on the 24th of August, followed by a European release on the 27th.

Set after World War II, the game follows protagonist Vito Scaletta as he rises through the Mafia underworld of the United States.

The game will span across ten years of his life, in which you will see how the country evolves over this time.

A few weeks ago we heard that the developers have done a deal with Playboy to feature vintage images from their magazine in the game!
