Murderer suing Israel for not repairing PlayStation in prison
Some people just can’t get enough of PlayStation. A convicted murderer and prisoner in Israel is suing the prison service for not repairing his broken PlayStation.
Yuri Avrutin asked the prison to repair his PlayStation 2 console after it managed to break, but the prison service is refusing, arguing that PlayStation 2 and 3s could be used for outside communication.
The court argues that a games console is a privilege not a right, and that the prisoners could be given the chance to own other systems instead.
Apparently Avrutin plays the console when he is having trouble sleeping.
Should prisoners ever be allowed access to luxury items such as games consoles in the first place, and should the prison get his system repaired?
