Last month, EA were behaving very braggartly, crowing that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was about to become their most downloaded demo. The Bad Company 2 demo has been an astonishing success with it being downloaded over three and half million times. Patrick Bach, Senior Producer on Battlefield heralded the “massive rush to experience the game” as being indicative that “action gamers are looking for more.”
We had our doubts; it’s only a free demo after all. Well the figures are in and Bach can rub them in our doubting faces. Bad Company 2 has topped the UK chartsand it shows once and for all that demo download figures are indeed a valid measure of anticipation for an upcoming release.

Nippon Ichi Software and Hit Maker team up to bring another RPG exclusively to the PS3. Last Rebellion tells the classic story of a clash between two opposing forces. In this case, it’s between two gods, Formival and Meiktilia whose powers are transferred to humanity in the form of Blades and Sealers.
Unfortunately, the game had the unpleasant luck of releasing on February 23rd in the United States, the same date as Heavy Rain, and will be released on March 26th in Europe. In fact, unless your name is either Lightning or Kratos, we wouldn’t suggest releasing a game in the near future.
Still, it’s been a while since our last RPG adventure and Last Rebellion features classic open world exploration and turn-based battles, so we’re keen on giving it a go. It’s time to see if the game can hold up against the heavy competition.

The game is expected to mark a significant shift away from the origins of the series: for a start, it will lead with the Lara Croft brand in favour of the traditional Tomb Raider title; it’s going to be distributed as a downloadable only title; it’s the first Lara Croft game with co-op; a fixed camera will also be used for the first time; and it’s expected to be a lot more action packed than previous Tomb Raider games, with concept art showing Lara sporting a flame thrower and other screenshots picturing Lara facing up to a cluster of giant spiders.
Age of Zombies is the latest mini from Halfbrick, the Aussie team behind PSN title Blast Off. The game has Barry Steakfries, the badass protagonist, travelling through various ages of time, blasting through hoards of zombies as he attempts to stop his evil nemesis Professor Barry Brains.
There is nothing particularly remarkable about Age of Zombies that sets it apart from the overabundance of zombie games around: dressing the zombies up as mummies or cavemen does not hide the fact that it’s another typical zombie shooter. Yet, Age of Zombies is still an incredibly moreish game that keeps clawing us back for more.
In this second episode of Special Edition Unboxed, we’re taking an in-depth look at the Special Edition of the incredible Heavy Rain. This version of the game is exclusive to the PAL region, and in the UK is only available in HMV.
