PS3 motion control comes to the new Tiger Woods game

Submitted by on Wednesday, 10 March 2010One Comment

EA have announced that Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 will support Sony’s motion controller.  Does the once infallible Woods still have the same consumer pull that he used to?

Fair play to EA for sticking by Woods during his recent adventures.  Whilst other sponsors were dropping left, right and centre, they stood their ground – basically stating that his private life is his business.

Now they have gone one better, by upgrading his next game to motion control.

Judging by the golf games on the Wii, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 could go either way in terms of control.  Whilst most of the Wii games get the powerful swings right, they really fall down when it comes to the more subtle shots.

Of course, Sony’s motion controller is more accurate – so we are hoping for a superior game, and not just a Wii Motion Plus port.

Curiously a Natal version hasn’t been announced yet.

As well as motion control, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 will feature the Ryder Cup, with Woods representing the US team and Rory McIlroy representing Europe.

McIlroy had the following to say;

“This is a huge honour for me to be the on the cover with Tiger Woods as I grew up idolizing Tiger.

The Ryder Cup has always been my favourite sporting event and the tournament is being played at The Celtic Manor Resort in Wales in 2010. Also, I’m hopeful to have an opportunity to represent the European team later in the year – it’s all very special.”

So what’s your verdict?  Are there any golf fans amongst the PS3 Attitude Public?  If so would you rather play with a pad or get up off the sofa and get into the motion control groove?

And is EA’s stance on Woods the right one to take?

As always the comments box awaits.
