Sony acquire LittleBigPlanet developer Media Molecule

Submitted by on Tuesday, 2 March 20104 Comments

LittleBigPlanet was one of the PS3’s biggest releases for 2008. However, what you may not know is that Sony has had no share in its developer Media Molecule.

That has now changed as today Sony announced that they have purchased the company.

Despite the fact that Media Molecule have only crafted one title, they have won success through many awards including Best of Show at E3 2008 from GameTrailers, G4TV and 1UP.

This acquisition will guarantee all games from the developers will release only as PlayStation exclusives. This ensures that as PS3 gamers there will be many more titles from Media Molecule for us to play in the future.

Congratulations to all the staff at Media Molecule for being part of this major step in the developer’s history.
