Square Enix reveals mystery Japanese PSN RPG – and it’s not what you think
When Square Enix and RPGs are mentioned in the same breath, a multitude of franchises spring to mind.
So when they mentioned earlier this week that a Japanese PSN release was planned for an Action RPG, our speculation meter went into meltdown.
Well the wait is over, the game has been announced – but it’s not what you think.
It’s Trine! Or more specifically Trine: The Lost Relic. Square Enix has picked up the Japanese publishing rights and given the game a fancy new subtitle.
Trine came out in October 2009 and was fairly well received. It is a physics-based action game where three characters allow clever solutions to challenges created by hazardous puzzles and enemies.
The gameplay is based on fully interactive physics – each character’s different abilities and tactics can be used to invent new ways to overcome obstacles and save the kingdom.
Did anyone buy the original?
