Are video games ruining marriages?
Another ‘games are bad’ topic has arisen, but for once it’s nothing to do with murder, mayhem or violence.
This time it’s marriages that are under scrutiny.
Catholic marriage counselling service Accord have said that fifteen percent of its clients faced marital difficulties due to spouses bringing work home, looking up porn or playing video games.
What makes this claim more topical is the recent revelation by actress Kim Marsh that gaming caused a rift between her and former partner Jack Ryder;
“Jack didn’t like to go out or socialise. He was really into computer games, which makes him sound about 12… We just weren’t getting on. Jack wasn’t really a party-goer. He didn’t drink.”
Honestly Kim, what do you sound like? In this day and age of alcoholic, drug taking ‘stars’, you would think a non-drinking game player wouldn’t be so bad.
Surely some of the PS3 Attitude Public must be in a happy relationship? How do you balance this with your gaming?
As always the comments box awaits.
