SAW 2 will have new sick and twisted traps

SAW 2 06 e1270830351222 SAW 2 will have new sick and twisted trapsThe SAW video games still have a lot of catching up to do if they want to compete with the films but Konami have just released word that SAW 2 will be coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 this autumn.

The game takes place in between the second and third films and will feature all-new traps and puzzles that will surely make your stomach turn.

“The original SAW video game gave horror fans and gamers a new outlet to advance their favorite genre, but left them wanting more,” commented Martin Schneider, European Marketing & PR Director, Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. “SAW 2 will give it to them, but be careful for what you wish for! Our successful partnership with Lionsgate allows us to advance the survival horror genre, giving players the most intense look into the SAW universe ever.”

Players will assume the role of Michael Tapp, the son of Detective Tapp from the first film and game. He is searching for answers regarding his father’s death. When he finally comes face to face with the man responsible, Jigsaw, Michael finds himself in a similar situation his dad once experienced. Now he must use his wits and desire to live if he is to survive this nightmare.

If you’re a fan of the SAW franchise then you’ll be pleased to know that SAW 2 will expand upon what we already know and hopefully fill in some of the gaps between the films.  There is no word yet if Tobin Bell will be reprising his role as the infamous Jigsaw although we imagine he will be.
