Blacklight: Tango Down is science fact, not science fiction

Submitted by on Tuesday, 6 April 2010No Comment

Blacklight: Tango Down may look like some futuristic war zone but it is actually closer to reality than one might think. Ignition Entertainment have stated that the game is “Science Fact, not Science Fiction.”

Much of the technology featured in the game is actually based on stuff currently in development. The only difference is that in the game, everything is widely available whereas it’s just coming to light in real life.

This technology includes EMPs and Digi-Grenades. Then there’s the “Hyper Reality Visor”  which uses its own electronic pulse and nearby electro-magnetic fields to shed light on what would otherwise be invisible.

You’ll play as a member of the special operations military group called “Blacklight.” You’re an elite “Tier One Asset” soldier; the best of the best and linked directly to the Secretary of Defense. It must be a really dire situation if the Blacklight are called in…

Just like the technology, the universe of Blacklight: Tango Down will be hauntingly familiar to our own. Technology is abundant and has made the world bleak and dull. There is also a viral epidemic that has everyone living in fear. While the military attempt to restrain the virus and weaponize it, affected citizens are turned into these monstrosities. All right, so it’s a little different than our world today.
