Epic Games announces new IP, Bulletstorm
Epic Games, the studio behind such hits as the Gears of War and Unreal Tournament series, have announced today the development of a new IP entitled Bulletstorm.
Bulletstorm isn’t your average FPS as it introduces the new “kill with skill” gameplay mechanic that requires you to be creative in taking down your enemies.
The story revolves around two ex-members of the elite mercenary group, Dead Echo. Grayson Hunt and Ishi Sato have been betrayed and exiled by their team and now they are on their own to fend off hordes of mutants and gangs in order to extract their revenge on those responsible.
What makes Bulletstorm different from the rest are the variety of skillshots used to decimate your opponents. This isn’t a game of pool though as you’ll use over-the-top combat and massively huge guns to take down those who get in your way. The more outrageous the skillshot, the higher the reward.
The game sounds intriguing but until we see a trailer or some screenshots, we’re going to wait on making any comments. For now, all we have is the front cover to May’s issue of GameInformer.
Bulletstorm is currently scheduled for a 2010 release. Stay tuned to @Bulletstorm or the game’s Facebook fan page for more information.
