Marvel vs. Capcom 3 producer, Ryota Niitsuma, says that the game has been in development since the Summer of 2008. How did Capcom manage to keep this one a secret for so long?!

Capcom has stated many times that legal issues have prevented Marvel vs. Capcom 3 from ever being made. Even though the game has been in development since 2008, the legal contracts were made much before that time. It’s interesting that production on the game started before MvC2 even hit the PSN. This has been a very well kept secret.

Gametrailers has a highly informative interview with the producer of MvC3:

If you haven’t been keeping up with the details, there are roughly 30 characters in the game and that number should increase by the time we get our hands on it. The screenshots reveal what the character models will actually look like when you’re playing the game. You’ll notice that the visuals are quite amazing and that’s thanks to Capcom’s MT Framework engine.

Since the debut teaser was so jaw dropping, here it is again:

Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds is expected to hit store shelves during the Spring of 2011. You know it’s going to be awesome since the abbreviation is MvC3: FTW.

Who would you like to see in this game? Let’s try to form a list of characters in the comments section.
