Well it’s finally here. We’ve waited, gone through BETA tests and waited some more – now FirstPlay is upon us.
But is it worth your money?
SEGA has cut a total of 73 jobs in its North American and European studios in a major reshuffle that will focus more on the digital sector.
Is this the death of the boxed product at SEGA?
Another great week for the PSN in North America.
The highlights of the week are definitely Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition and After Burner Climax. Want more? You got it! Puzzle Chronicles and Hyperballoid HD are now available as well. Sadly there are no demos for any of these games. Boo!
The lone demo this week is for Lost Planet 2. This is the multiplayer TDM demo that was only downloadable if you had a voucher. Don’t forget that by downloading the demo you are participating in Capcom’s “Kill Big for Charity” program. Even if you have no interest in Lost Planet 2 you might as well help a good cause.
On the add-on side of things there’s content for Rock Band and the Rock Band Network, Buzz!, Sonic & SEGA All-Star Racing, and Uncharted 2.
Enjoy!
Paul W.S. Anderson, the Hollywood director best known for the atrocious Resident Evil film adaptations (among others), is planning to develop games in the future. After 15 years talking to developers, Anderson feels he has a “very good appreciation” for what makes a good game.
His first game? That would be Buck Rogers.
VidZone, the European music video streaming service for the PS3, has been updated today and it packs in some great improvements.
The biggest addition is what they call VidZone TV. Sometimes you just can’t make your mind up on what you want to listen to, and so this is where this feature comes in very handy.
MAG was recently updated to version 1.05 but that isn’t enough for the fine folks over at Zipper Interactive. Today they’ve announced that on April 29th, MAG will be receiving some FREE downloadable content.
The Fast Attack Gear Pack, aside from having an awesome sounding name, will provide extra support for those who like to take time and line up your shots. Yes, we’re talking to all you snipers out there.
As you may know, PS3 Attitude is run entirely for charity. Every ounce of revenue we generate from your visits, the games you buy through the website and the advertising money we receive is given to worthy causes.
Recently a number of companies have stepped forward to help us raise our profile, and what you’re about to read is the story of how one of the world’s largest advertising agencies and some good natured magazine publishers has led to the release of our very own advert – simply called ‘Heart’.
The PS Store updates have been on a role lately!
The Lost Planet 2 Multiplayer demo is now available to everyone without a voucher. By downloading this demo you will be participating in Capcom’s “Kill Big for Charity” program. Nothing beats playing videos games for a good cause.
The highlight this week is definitely After Burner Climax. This game just looks incredible. If After Burner isn’t enough for you there’s also Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West and… Hamsterball Unleashed…
There’s a healthy amount of DLC for various games, including Magic Orbz, Uncharted 2, Sonic & SEGA All-Star Racing. As always, there’s tons of content for Rock Band and you’ll also find user generated tracks from the Rock Band Network.
We’re going to ignore the latest PSone “Classic” and pretend it never existed. Enjoy!
Sony is in the process of signing a deal which will bring Major League Baseball’s live streaming service to the PS3 – further cementing the tagline ‘it only does everything.’
The deal should be done by the end of the week – so prepare yourselves!
It’s common knowledge that movie tie-ins come under much more scrutiny and criticism than any other type of game. Most would argue (perhaps justifiably) that this is thoroughly deserved, and that they can never replace such blockbuster titles as Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and God of War III. On this front I would have to agree, but why exactly is this the case?
The Transformer concept is one that should be ideal for creating a fantastic video game. Giant robots smacking seven bells out of each other, whilst morphing into vehicles – how could it possibly go wrong?
Well it has gone wrong in the past, several times in fact – but High Moon Studios upcoming ‘Transformers: War for Cybertron’ looks set to put all the bad stuff behind it.
Let’s roll out!
A new firmware is now available. And no, you won’t be losing any features this time around.
Marvel vs. Capcom 3 producer, Ryota Niitsuma, says that the game has been in development since the Summer of 2008. How did Capcom manage to keep this one a secret for so long?!
Japan was the first to receive an update to Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice allowing for trophy support in March of 2009. North America soon followed suit in July. European Disgaea fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief as trophy support is coming overseas on May 13th in Europe.
It only does Race, Create, Share.
Fans have been waiting for the arrival of the FFXIII costumes for quite some time. The wait is finally over.
There’s also a Monkey Island personal space in Europe, a Wireless Keypad giveaway in North America, and so much more!
Here we go again with another patch for Uncharted 2 by developers Naughty Dog as they continue their huge support for the game.
1.07 doesn’t add anything new, but rather fixes any little problems in the multiplayer.
Today has been quite a GAME focused news day, with announcements of volcano related game delays and profit drops (non volcano related!).
Now they have unveiled their plans for the future – with a focus on digital business.
