As we reported earlier, ex Infinity Ward heads Vince Zampella and Jason West have started up a new studio named Respawn Entertainment and have partnered with Activision’s main rivals Electronic Arts.
So – how has Activision taken the news? Break ups are always tough, especially when multi million dollar franchises are involved.
Epic Games, the studio behind such hits as the Gears of War and Unreal Tournament series, have announced today the development of a new IP entitled Bulletstorm.
Bulletstorm isn’t your average FPS as it introduces the new “kill with skill” gameplay mechanic that requires you to be creative in taking down your enemies.

The entire setlist for the upcoming Green Day: Rock Band has been revealed to include 47 songs from some of the band’s most iconic albums, Dookie and American Idiot. Let’s also not forget their most recent album, 21st Century Breakdown.
The 47 tracks are spread across three historic venues from the band’s history; The Warehouse, Milton Keynes, and The Fox Theater in Oakland.

LinkedIn is fast becoming the site to watch if you are after information on new games. For those who are unaware, LinkedIn is essentially Facebook for professionals. You can add your CV and connect with hundreds of other like minded industry people, gaining valuable contacts in the process.

Earth Defense is the latest add-on for ZEN Pinball. Unlike the Street Fighter II and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 pinball tables, Earth Defense is not based on a popular video game franchise.

Uncharted 2 will be receiving new character skins, new maps, new trophies, and an all-new mode later this month.
Dubbed the Siege Expansion, Richard Yap announced on the European PlayStation.Blog that the new co-op Siege mode will feature six skins, two maps and 11 trophies, all new of course.

The SAW video games still have a lot of catching up to do if they want to compete with the films but Konami have just released word that SAW 2 will be coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 this autumn.

The official site for Crysis 2, www.sosnewyork.com, has been updated with a new trailer along with some new screenshots as well. It’s actually the extended version of the same trailer that aired in Times Square, New York a few days ago.
In it, we see a desolate New York that has been destroyed by what appears to be these alien like monsters. We also get a glimpse of the Nanosuit 2 in all its glory. All of this is accompanied by the creepiest rendition of Frank Sinatra’s New York, New York we’ve ever heard. Enjoy!
