Broad on board for International Cricket 2010
Codemasters have announced that Stuart Broad will be the face of International Cricket 2010. The rising star of English cricket shot to fame in 2009 for his notable performances during the 2009 Ashes which included a man of the match performance for the fifth test.
International Cricket 2010 will be having more than just a new celebrity face; it’s getting some new features too with the the most significant being a new player and AI confidence system. No longer can you hit world-class shots or throw that perfect bowl from the off. It’s all about confidence; batsmen have to play their way into the game and bowlers need to get that crucial momentum.
Codemasters’ aim is to create an authentic cricketing experience, and they already have an admirer with Broad – a keen gamer himself:
“It’s fantastic for me to follow in the footsteps of legends like Brian Lara and feature on the front of a Codemasters cricket game. I’m a huge gamer so it’s exciting to be involved with Codemasters, who have always produced the most authentic and realistic cricket games. When I’m away with the team tour, playing games on our consoles is a great way to pass the time and enjoy some banter. I can’t wait to take on the rest of the lads – and beat them – in International Cricket 2010!”
Codemasters may also be banking on Broad’s sex appeal; nicknamed Westlife for his youthful boyband looks, Broad is a bit of a pin-up with the ladies. He even had a relationship with former Miss England laura Coleman. Are Codemasters trying to get female gamers having Broad on the cover? Who knows?
They also released a trailer which we have posted at the top of the page for your viewing pleasure. Check it out.
