Battlefield: Bad Company 2 gets co-op mode

EA continues to impress with the introduction of a co-op mode to its multi million selling game – Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Call of Duty – you are dismissed!

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has been a very successful game for EA.  Whilst not in the same league as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in terms of sales, it’s still managed to shift over five million copies – with many people lavishing praise on its online modes (when they were working that is).

However, keeping a game feeling fresh is a tricky business, but one that EA seems focused on doing.  The new co-op DLC is called ‘Onslaught Mode’ and can be played with up to four players across the following four multiplayer maps;

  • Valparaiso
  • Atacama Desert
  • Isla Inocentes
  • Nelson Bay

These maps have had some subtle tweaking with new lighting, time of day, added vehicles and other effects.  The level of teamwork required also varies depending on which map you are playing.

Senior producer at DICE – Patrick Bach – had the following to say;

“We’re thrilled to bring something new and fresh to Battlefield: Bad Company 2 while still keeping Battlefield’s signature gameplay intact.

We want to consistently support the over 4 million fans playing the game with new ways to get into multiplayer and also challenge the elite players with new experiences to improve their performance online.”

The DLC is listed as ‘coming soon’, and as always we will keep you posted.
