CryENGINE 3 gets licensed for Ignition London’s “flagship title”
Ignition Entertainment have today announced that Crytek’s much trumpeted CryENGINE 3 will be powering the “flagship game” for its London-based studio. The mystery title is “a uniquely crafted combat action-adventure” and it will be available on both PS3 and Xbox 360.
Vijay Chadha, CEO of Ignition Entertainment, was obviously delighted to make the announcement and he claims the team are already “delivering impressive results.” The best thing about the CryENGINE 3, according to Chadha, is the speed and ease in which cross-platform games can be made using it. He said, the engine is the “tool of choice for anyone seriously intent on delivering AAA cross-platform titles,”
Cytek were equally pleased with the announcement and had this statement to make.
“We’re delighted that Ignition London decided CryENGINE 3 is the only engine capable of achieving the vision for their flagship game. Their team is highly talented with ambitions to create truly state-of-the-art games – and from what we’ve seen already, we’re confident their development will showcase and even enhance the technology in CryENGINE 3.” – Carl Jones, Director of Global Business Development CryENGINE at Crytek.
Crytek – when they are not designing critically-acclaimed game engines – spend their time developing well renowned games from Far Cry to Crysis. Crysis 2 is currently in development and it’s looking stunning, but we wouldn’t expect anything less from this team.
