E3 2010 will be the biggest and best ever

E3 2010 logo e1273214929767 E3 2010 will be the biggest and best everThe waters of E3 have been choppy as of late.  The convention was well known for its size and grandeur, but it was this that led to its eventual reduction in size as companies struggled to foot the bill for large and lavish stands.

The new look E3 tanked though – as it equated to nothing more than a few boring looking meetings.  Last year saw a partial return to the E3 of old, but apparently that was nothing to what we can expect this year.

Excited?  Us?  Well, maybe a little (lot).

ESA – which owns E3 Expo – has confirmed 245 exhibitors have signed up for this year’s show to date, and it also describes a robust attendee registration.

President and CEO of the ESA – Michael D. Gallagher – had the following to say;

“The world is coming to the E3 Expo this June. With groundbreaking announcements expected from computer and video game publishers and developers, this year’s E3 Expo is going to be the main event for the entertainment industry in 2010.”

Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello has echoed that sentiment, saying the following;

“This summer, the ESA will host the biggest and best E3 ever.  All the best games and all the best developers will be together in LA to unveil new titles and celebrate the creativity and new technology that makes gaming so much fun.”

Even our best buddy Michael Pachter has said a few words.  Swooping down from his palace in the stars, he said the following;

“I expect the 2010 E3 to be one of the most exciting in years, with the type of impactful breaking news we have learned to expect from the show. This year’s E3 will be the launching pad for hardware and software innovations that could change the industry for years.”

Of course, we always hear this type of talk regarding E3 – but this year is looking set to be immense.  Move, Natal and no doubt a sack full of new announcements has gotten us all hot under the collar.

Let’s hope Sony manages to not leak all of its announcements this year eh?
