GameStop Canada accidently lists Move price?

Submitted by on Wednesday, 12 May 20104 Comments

Sony has been awfully quiet regarding certain aspects of the PlayStation Move.  We don’t blame them, as revealing their cards too early could be a crucial mistake in this years battle of the motion peripherals.

The most we’ve heard is mutterings of a sub $100 price tag, but nothing concrete.  Unfortunately somebody forgot to tell GameStop Canada not to spill the beans, as they posted the Move’s price on their website.

So – what’s the magic number?

Well it’s a fairly reasonable $59.99.  Obviously this hasn’t been confirmed by Sony, and overnight the information has been stripped from the GameStop Canada website – but it gives us a good feel for the amount of pennies we may need to stash away for the end of the year.

Then of course there is always the wonderful exchange rate.  If Sony takes the $1 = £1 route then suddenly things look a lot less rosy.

Sony needs to be really careful how they price and market the Move.  To get the most out of it you’ll need at least two controllers, maybe Navigation Controllers and the PlayStation Eye – which is no small investment from the consumer’s point of view.

Would you buy a Move for $59.99?
